RESUME FORMATTING + COVER LETTER WRITING SERVICES

Your resume is not only the most universal tool to landing the job you want – it’s the quickest, most powerful way to succinctly describe yourself. Think of it as a marketing brochure for yourself -- use it to package your skills, laud your accomplishments and describe yourself as the capable, resourceful candidate your dream employer is looking for.

 

I like to start with a one-hour session in person to ask you about the position you are targeting and then spend time outside our session to craft your resume.

 

I like to have you consider resumes the “quantitative” approach while cover letters are the “qualitative” approach. HR staff and/or your future boss will scan the resume while they may actually read the cover letter. Take this opportunity to show the more human, flesh-in-blood aspects of yourself and make them want to meet you.

 

If you are applying for positions with large companies it is likely that your resume and even your cover letter will be scanned for certain keywords and keyword phrases. I can help you craft resumes and cover letters that keep pace with applicant scanning systems and other human resources technology.

Cover letter writing services are also offered. Many people do not realize that applicant scanning systems also scan cover letters for keywords, so crafting cover letters requires thought and consideration. Cover letters also give you a chance to share information the resume might not fully elucidate (like gaps in your work history or unique experience and personality traits that help you stand out as a job candidate).

Rates $105/hour 

[One hour minimum. Most 1-page resumes take at least 2 hours to complete. Revisions are allowed, and an estimate will be provided before services commence. Proofreading is included.]

Fall Resume Review (Free!)

Until October 31, 2023, Spark a Career will offer a review of your resume for $75. Here is how it works:

1. Set up a free 30-minute call. Indicate that you are seeking a free resume review when asked to provide details about the call.

2. Once your call is scheduled, we will provide instructions for sending us your resume for review. If you have positions that you are planning to apply for, we will ask you to send us links for those job postings. 

3. During this call, Kristin Schuchman will call you at the assigned time and provide strategies and tips for helping you customize your resume for the positions you are seeking.

4. Kristin will also provide detailed notes that summarize her suggestions.

Brass Tacks Career Coaching Package

Includes 4 one-hour sessions, two formal career assessments (Myers-Briggs, Strong Inventory or Strengthsfinder), and two hours of out-of-session resume or cover letter formatting/writing. Sessions can take place in person or via Zoom and can also cover interview prep, job search, LinkedIn coaching, networking assistance, small business coaching or assistance creating a website to showcase a CV or portfolio or launch a consulting business. $550
